WALKING: There are a variety of walks, for all abilities in the area. Maps and routes are available for use and some walks may be accompanied by Barrie, an experienced walker for 25 years, for a nominal fee. Transport to and from start / finish points can also be arranged.
Walking can be done at any time of the year, however the recommended months are from September to May. Warm layered clothing and waterproofs are advisable during winter months. In the summer a long sleeved shirt, hat and barrier cream are recommended.
Comfortable ankle boots with good cleated soles will suffice. Trekking poles are also advised.
CYCLING: The Costa Blanca has some outstanding cycling on roads that have been used by the Tour of Spain otherwise known as the Vuelta. The roads are of good quality and there is a choice of coastal, hilly or even mountainous rides, with some roads going to 1200m. In general the other road users will give you great respect which can come as a pleasant surprise. On some days you see more cyclists than cars and many professional and amateur cycling teams have training weeks in the area.
